Comparison of laser displacement sensors with other displacement sensors

Comparison of laser displacement sensors with other displacement sensors

The laser displacement sensor can measure the position and displacement of the measured object without contact, and is mainly used in the measurement of the displacement, thickness, vibration, distance, diameter and other geometric quantities of the detected object. According to the measurement principle, the principle of laser displacement sensor is divided into laser triangulation method and laser echo analysis method, laser triangulation method is generally suitable for high-precision, short-distance measurement, and laser echo analysis law is used for long-distance measurement, the following are two kinds of measurement methods of laser displacement sensor principle.

Comparison of other displacement sensors

Eddy current displacement sensor

Resolution: The highest resolution of the eddy current sensor can also reach 0.1um, which is basically equivalent to the laser displacement sensor

Linearity: The linearity of the eddy current sensor is generally low, about 1% of the range, and the excellent laser displacement sensor is generally 0.1%

Measurement conditions: Eddy current sensors require that the measured body is a conductor and non-magnetic, that is, a conductor that is not magnetic, such as aluminum, copper, etc. Iron does not. The laser displacement sensor can measure whether the measured object is magnetic conductive or conductive.

Capacitive displacement sensor

Capacitive displacement sensor accuracy is very high, much higher than the laser displacement sensor, but the capacitive displacement sensor range is very small, generally less than 1mm, the laser displacement sensor range can be 2m.
