Displacement measurement mode of spectral confocal displacement sensor

With the rapid development of industry, the demand for precision measurement technology is getting higher and higher, displacement measurement technology as the basis of geometric precision measurement, not only requires ultra-high measurement accuracy, but also needs a wide range of adaptability to the environment and materials, and gradually tends to real-time, non-destructive testing. Spectral confocal displacement sensor is a new type of sensor defined in the Chinese automated measurement market, which can solve many high-precision measurement applications.

The displacement mode of the spectral confocal sensor is specially used to measure the height of the points on the surface of the sample.

The displacement data is transmitted using a digital resolution of 30 bits.

When measuring an opaque sample (metal, paper, ceramic...) When profiling heights, using displacement patterns is straightforward.

When measuring thin, transparent samples or coated samples, it happens that the sensor gets two signals at the same time: the coated surface reflects one signal and the bottom layer reflects a second signal. By default, the sensor selects the strongest signal and ignores other received signals, regardless of the relative position of their spectral peaks. In some applications this treatment is not optimal: in the above example, the reflectivity of the underlying material is generally stronger than the reflectivity of the coating, and it is the coating surface that we may need to measure. The advanced topic will give the solution of the pattern in this application.
