2022A brief history of spectral confocal is presented in this paper
In 1940, Hans Goldmann invented the slit-lamp system in Bern, Switzerland, for use in eye examinations. This ophthalmic test system is considered the prototype of a confocal sensor measurement system. After more than 10 years of development abroad, Marvin Minsky produced the first confocal microscope and applied for a patent in 1957.
